Hi, I’m Kimber
For over twenty years, I’ve been learning and teaching how to use meditation and movement to improve our relationships with our bodies, our spirits, our communities, and our world.
My approach is to see you in your wholeness and goodness and reflect that truth back to you.
We are all vulnerable, strong, precious beings. We make mistakes and fall over, and need to find our way back to ourselves again. There are times when I’ve felt so much despair, I wasn’t sure if or how I would find my way back. But my meditation and movement practices reminded me how to ground and find stability in the midst of the storm. Through lovingkindness and other heart-centered practices, I’ve learned how to use difficulty as compost to grow self-kindness, and to connect with others with empathy and compassion. Sometimes we need support in remembering who we are and rediscovering joy in life.
My path is meeting you where you are on your path to share mind, body & spiritual integration practices. I can help you:
Listen to and align with your heart
Grow and deepen your meditation and mindfulness practices
Feel better in your body through movement practice, offering it the care you need
Cultivate spiritual practices to refresh and recenter yourself

I value meeting you where you’re at… if you have a direction in mind, I’m happy to support you on that path, helping you move through obstacles and gather resources to ease your way. If you’re looking for direction, with loving attention I’ll help you discover what’s important to you and what inner skills you can develop to find your way forward. I can assist you with planning and accountability as well as with trusting your intuition and listening to your heart. If you find yourself in a place where you need attentive, loving listening in order to meet the challenges you’re facing, I’m happy to offer you my compassionate ear and non-judgmental heart. There is always a bit of mystery in why someone might be called to work with me: we can embrace the possibilities of freedom and magic as our time together evolves.
A session will often begin with a short check-in with your mind, body, and heart, and then we’ll move into our practice, whether meditation, movement, listening, or spiritual mentoring. We can invite in other modalities as your needs shift. Depending on what arises during our session, I may give you practices to work on or offer inspiration to meet whatever uncertainty is arising in your life. We’ll leave time to answer questions and then close with a dedication.
Given my own background and experience I feel called to support you in the areas of relationship breakup, family estrangement, grieving loss, healing body image difficulties, recovering from diet mentality, finding spiritual fulfillment, connecting more deeply to the earth, developing a nourishing movement practice, accessing authentic joy, and moving through times when we feel stuck and hopeless.
Together we can explore practices and tools from Buddhism and other traditions, including lovingkindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity practices (the four Brahmaviharas), concentration, tranquility, and mindfulness, strategies for decreasing reactivity and reducing the power of the inner critic, increasing creativity, adding relaxation and stress relief to your life, improving self-care and self love, accessing mysticism and a sense of being connected to the universe, inviting in positive relationships with your ancestors, among others.
Who are you?
I love working with clients who are committed to their own growth and who are willing to put time and energy into our work together. I prefer to work with folks who want to work together for 3-6 months or longer, in order to experience the benefits of real change in your life. I look forward to getting to know you and tailoring our work to fit your needs.
Who am I?
I’m a white, cis, queer mom and author who’s taught movement and mindfulness in the San Francisco Bay area for more than twenty years, bringing a body love and social justice perspective to teaching and learning. As a dharma practitioner, I’ve witnessed first hand how the practice of mindfulness brings more compassion, connection, and joy to relationships and to life. Lately I’ve been diving deep into the devotional practices of Kwan Yin, which are tremendously nourishing and transformative. I’m also enjoying getting to know my healed ancestors and learning how to invite them into my life. I’m immensely grateful to my teachers who include Noliwe Alexander, Carol Cano, JD Doyle, Amana Brembry Johnson, Thanissara and Kittisaro, Larry Yang, Spring Washam, Pema Chodron, Carlos Pomeda, and so many more. All of my work is infused with a Buddhist Dharma social justice and racial justice perspective. If you are interested in courses examining whiteness and white ancestry, please use the contact form to reach out to me about upcoming trainings with my colleague Anna Brown Griswold.
I am a big believer in therapy, but I am not a therapist. I offer instead compassionate listening, spiritual mentorship, and support for movement and meditation practice.
